In 2013 a master plan for the Town of South Fork’s parks, trails, and recreational amenities was completed.
The overall vision of the town is to develop an integrated network of parks, trails and riverfront access that provides a broad spectrum of active and passive recreational activities for residents and visitors. The South Fork section of the Rio Grande is a critical component of the overall potential San Luis Valley Rio Grande Recreational Area.
